What are the most important things to consider when choosing your attorney?

1. Experience:
Your Attorney should have CURRENT seasoned Desk and Courtroom experience in the area(s) of legal help needed. Whether you’re facing a simple, complicated and/or difficult divorce, custody dispute, or a personal injury matter, you need an attorney with experience, including ACTIVE courtroom and/or trial experience if needed.

     Our Experience:
We offer active and seasoned experience in Divorce, Mediation, Child Custody, Domestic Violence, Support matters, Division of property issues, Personal Injury experience and more.

2.  Your attorney's area(s) of interest/expertise:
Many attorneys work in several areas of law.  It's important that your attorney is well-versed in the current laws regarding your type of case and the area of law it encompasses.  For example, Family Law attorneys should know and understand how to best apply the current laws to your case, resulting in the best possible outcome of your matter, and to be able to advise you accordingly.

Areas we can help with:  Divorce,  Separation, Child Custody, Mediation, Mediation Preparation, Document Preparation, Court Preparation, Support Matters, Division of Property, Domestic Violence Matters, as well as Personal Injury cases.

3.  You should feel comfortable with your attorney, and his/her abilities:
It's important that your attorney understand(s) and also works well with the courts of jurisdiction in/on your case.

4.  Knowledge of the Court System:
Get a feel for their knowledge of the court system in and for the county you will be in at the time of commencing your case. It's important that your attorney know the court system and be familiar with the judges and court's procedures.

5.  Consider whether you can work together:
...with your attorney and don't be afraid to ask about the attorney’s style and motivation. Your attorney should be comfortable with ANY potential outcome, and be willing to participate in mediation or conduct a full blown trial, as is determined by the specific facts of your case.  Your attorney should be competent in handling all aspects of a divorce, custody dispute, and/or personal injury matter and be able to fully explain the financial implications arising there from.  JUST ASK.

6.  Fees:
Don't be afraid to ask about your attorney's fee structure. You will be provided detailed information about each step of your case and the cost per hour for services to be rendered.

7.  Don't be afraid to ask your attorney what he/she thinks about your case:
That's exactly what you should be concerned about.  After you've provided your information, your attorney can advise as to the most likely best course of action.

    1. Kathleen has been my attorney since 2008. She did my divorce and some follow up work a few years later. She is very aggressive and has great attention to the details of the case. Not that divorce is a game, pleasant or anthing of that nature but I have to say, Kathleen made it easy on me. Kathleen got me EVERTHING I asked for and more. She tore apart my ex wifes case and had everything thrown out. She got me my kids and more. I can't say enough about kathleen! She has to be one of the best lawyers out there. I used a different Lawyer originally who spent my money and got me NOTHING! Kathleen had no issues picking up the pieces after I fired that Lawyer and I came out on top.. Big time! Kathleen is honest! Agressive! Personable! SHE GETS RESULTS! THANKS KATHEEN!!!!
